New West Health Care for Montanans Scholarship
The New West “Health Care for Montanans” Scholarship is awarded annually to students seeking a health care career within the state of Montana. The scholarship can be used at the following campuses:
The award is issued as a one-year, non-renewable, non-transferable scholarship in the amount of $2,000 for students seeking a bachelors or masters degree; $1,000 for students seeking a 2-year associates degree. Funds are disbursed in equal amounts over two semesters, and the scholarship must be used the next consecutive academic year after being awarded. Eleven scholarships were awarded for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Recipients of this scholarship must meet the following criteria:
The scholarship is a one-time award but recipients from previous award years can re-apply and be considered for the scholarship.

- Must be a Montana resident;
- Must be pursuing a health care career within the state of Montana;
- Must be a junior or senior in a 4-year degree program (OR);
- Must be in a graduate program in public health and/or nursing (OR);
- Must be in the 2nd year of a 2-year associate degree program;
- Must have a G.P.A. of at least 3.0.
The scholarship is a one-time award but recipients from previous award years can re-apply and be considered for the scholarship.
